How to get to the Ferniehurst Dell in Baildon
By far the best way to visit the Dell is on foot if you are local or using public transport if your are not. The Ferniehurst Dell is well served by bus and rail links to the Town.
The 626 and 656/9 services both stop within 100m of one of the two main entrances.
On a Bicycle
The Ferniehurst Dell is easily accessible by bicycle. The National Cycle Route 66 runs from central Manchester to Spurn Head via Bradford, Leeds, York, Beverley, and Kingston upon Hull. The Ferniehurst Dell can easily be found from Route 66, following the Leeds Liverpool canal towpath, by heading north on the B6151 Baildon Road. The main entrance is located 300m on the left.
Please, only visit the Ferniehurst Dell by car if you absolutely have to. Parking spaces are limited and should be kept available for the those people with walking difficulties.
The most appropriate place to park is on Cliffe Lane West BD17 5QL
There is parking available for people with walking difficulties at the main entrance on the B6151 on Baildon Road (Point D), and from Cliffe Lane West (Point C) . Please note that the Ferniehurst Dell is a steep woodland location, and it is not possible to access the entire woodland using a wheelchair. There is also no visitor centre or public toilet facilities at present.
